The Black Bird
1975

Drew remembers this poster as being one of the first ones he ever did for the movies and the first that was printed.  The painting is supposed to be Rockwellian in it's conception. Like Rockwell, Drew also uses his friends as models.  Even early on Drew would use the most available models to get the job done.  In this case he himself was the model for the running figure of George Segal, his son was the model for the little person and his wife was the model for the girl.  His old employer was the figure for the Hawaiians and an artist friend modeled for the scuba diver.  The dog is a tribute to Norman Rockwell, a lift from one of Rockwell's paintings.
