The Inlaws
T.V. Guide Ad
A pencil drawing on tissue paper, an example of Drew's comprehensive
drawings done to show his clients before doing the "finished"
art.
It was for a TV Guide, black and white, advertisement. Artists do
drawings, thumbnails (small drawings), comps. (comprehensives) to show
ideas and compositions to their clients. They receive criticisms,
directions and opinions form the client based upon these drawings.
Then,
according to the response, the artist does a finished, larger,
more
complete picture to be used for reproduction. Joe collected this
from an art director who had kept it for many years. It is an
original
drawing, not a print, highly collectable and of great value.
