American International Pictures
Exhibition
This piece was done to promote an American International Pictures
retrospective
exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum. It was a poster, probably
invitations
and whatever for the exhibition. AIP was big in the fifties and
at
drive-in movie venues so I thought it appropriate to mock Rockwell with
the illustration. Rockwell was big in the fifties, Americana and
all. All that is gone now, the fifties, drive-in movies, AIP and
Rockwell. All that remains are memories and a painter to mock
them
and even he doesn't do Rockwell any more.
